Her compositions evoke the vastness of the night sky, drawing the viewer beyond the limits of everyday perception and towards a deeper awareness of our place within time itself. Her work has appeared in international auctions, including Christie’s London and BFAMI, and is held in private collections across Canada, the United States, Kazakhstan, Brunei, Russia, Spain and the United Kingdom. Introducing Kat Holmes, an emerging painter whose Introducing Kat Holmes, an emerging painter whose practice is driven by an intense, ongoing dialogue between emotion, memory and process. A BA Fine Art graduate from UWE, Kat has been deeply immersed in painting since the age of 21. Currently a studio resident at Document in Bristol, her work continues to evolve between locations, now rooted in the North West of England. Her paintings return repeatedly to themes of love, loss, abandonment and the shifting nature of self. There is a raw honesty in her approach, where personal experience becomes both subject and material. More recently, her process has taken on a precise, almost analytical rhythm, likened to working through a mathematical equation, where each layer is reconsidered, challenged and resolved over time. For Kat, a painting is never immediate. It is something lived with, revisited and refined until it reaches a point of emotional and conceptual clarity. Yesterday we had the pleasure of visiting Zebra On Yesterday we had the pleasure of visiting Zebra One Gallery @zebraonegallery in Hampstead, where a special group exhibition was held to celebrate Women in Art for International Women’s Day. International Women’s Day offers a powerful opportunity to honour women in the arts, recognising both their extraordinary contributions and the challenges they continue to navigate. For generations, women have been underrepresented in the art world, yet their impact across painting, sculpture and mixed media has been profound and enduring. This exhibition brought together nine talented artists whose practices explore identity, resilience, strength and vulnerability. Each voice was distinct, yet together they formed a compelling and timely dialogue. It was especially meaningful to support my best friend, Catarina Diaz, who was one of the exhibiting artists. Seeing her work within such a thoughtful curatorial context made the visit all the more special. We are delighted to share that The FLUX Review will be featuring interviews on our website with all of the artists involved, offering deeper insight into their practice, process and inspiration. Founder of The Tryson Collection (est. 2008), Sonia has dedicated her career to discovering and nurturing talent across Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Germany, the UK, the US and Spain. Her collection has been featured in major institutions including the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum and the Museo Novecento.
