New Q&A live with interdisciplinary artist Jenette New Q&A live with interdisciplinary artist Jenette Coldrick Morrell.

With a creative practice spanning more than five decades, Jenette Coldrick Morrell works across painting, pottery, printmaking, textiles and mixed media. Born in Cornwall in 1952, her early encounters with artists including Isobel Atterbury Heath and Peter Lanyon helped shape a lifelong commitment to creativity, experimentation and the expressive possibilities of making.

Working from studios in Yorkshire and the Midlands, Jenette explores emotion, memory, heritage and the environment through a deeply personal and material-led practice. Her work examines the relationship between the mental and physical worlds, drawing on themes of memory, inherited narratives, boundaries and connection.

Fibres, marks, textures and deliberate imperfections recur throughout her work, forming a visual language rooted in lived experience. In recent years, adapting her methods in response to spinal stenosis has led Jenette towards simpler, more immediate processes, bringing renewed clarity and distinctive energy to her work.

In this interview for The Flux Review, Jenette reflects on her early artistic influences, the evolution of her interdisciplinary practice, and the enduring role of memory, materiality and experimentation within her work.

Claudia Tong’s practice moves between traditional and new media, bringing together painting, illustration, mixed media, computer graphics, digital art and music composition.

Rooted in the human experience of ordinary moments, her work transforms familiar streets, stadiums, landscapes and everyday encounters into spaces of colour, imagination and symbolic energy.

With a background in computer science and psychology, Tong approaches art through both intellectual structure and creative freedom. Across watercolour, ink, acrylic, collage and code-based digital works, she explores the meeting point between logic and emotion, reality and fantasy, precision and spontaneity.

Shaped by her journey from China to Brown University and London, and influenced by science, philosophy, Taoism and ancient Chinese calligraphy, Tong’s work creates a dialogue between East and West, past and present, physical art and digital experimentation.

New interview live on The FLUX Review with contemp New interview live on The FLUX Review with contemporary multimedia artist and photographer Nino Memanishvili.

Memanishvili’s practice explores internal psychology, existential thresholds and the emotional charge of abandoned spaces. Through stark black-and-white contrasts, hard geometric lines and a deeply reflective visual language, her work moves beyond documentation to consider architecture as a site of absence, memory and psychological suspension.

In her photographic series Abandoned, derelict and brutalist structures become more than forgotten buildings. They appear as physical expressions of isolation, disconnection and the passage of time, inviting the viewer into a space of reflection.

New interview live with textile artist @fumikasuri New interview live with textile artist @fumikasuri

Fumika Tani is a Japanese textile artist and MA Textile Design candidate at Chelsea College of Arts, London, whose practice reimagines the endangered Japanese weaving tradition of Kasuri through British wool, natural dyes and materials drawn from her current life in the UK.

Rooted in the philosophy of Mingei, Tani’s work bridges cultures, landscapes and material histories, exploring how craft traditions can remain alive within contemporary life. Before relocating to London, she worked within Kyoto’s traditional textile industry, where she witnessed both the richness of inherited craft knowledge and the fragility of its transmission.

Working with food waste, everyday remnants and plants such as woad and weld, Tani transforms overlooked materials into subtle, layered textiles of memory and renewal. Through her ongoing series TSUGI, she reflects on connection, inheritance and continuity, proposing that tradition survives not through replication, but through adaptation, relevance and continued use.

What Blooms Beneath by London-based artist and arc What Blooms Beneath by London-based artist and architect Hanna Benihoud transforms Borough Yards into a trail of sculptural blooms, winding through the neighbourhood’s historic arches, brickwork and hidden corners.

Inspired by fungi, underground growth and the quiet life that takes place before spring fully arrives, the installation invites visitors to slow down, look around and follow what appears to be growing from the architecture itself.

Made from crin, a translucent weatherproof fabric more commonly used in millinery, the works shift from soft cream to pink and deep burgundy, bringing a delicate, organic presence to one of London Bridge’s most atmospheric spaces.

Lorraine Cleary’s interdisciplinary practice moves Lorraine Cleary’s interdisciplinary practice moves between sculpture, assemblage, textiles, embroidery, drawing and installation to examine gendered violence, trauma and the politics of visibility.

Reclaiming traditional craft and the domestic sphere as tools of resistance and storytelling, Cleary creates tactile narratives of endurance, remembrance and defiance. Her work investigates how women have been constructed, mythologised, silenced and controlled within cultural memory, folklore and contemporary society, while positioning women as autonomous agents within systems that have sought to contain them.

Through labour-intensive processes of stitching, reconstruction and installation, Cleary gives form to stories often pushed to the margins, transforming material, memory and lived experience into acts of reclamation.

Artist Lara Gallagher’s practice explores the body Artist Lara Gallagher’s practice explores the body as a threshold between anatomy, memory and the unseen.

Working primarily in graphite, Gallagher creates layered drawings in which the figure is formed, disrupted and reconfigured, resisting any fixed or singular definition. Her work moves between anatomical reference and abstraction, drawing on biology, psychology, spirituality, theology and pagan traditions to consider what lies beneath, beyond and within the body.

Through processes of superimposition, erasure and accumulation, her figures multiply, fragment and dissolve, occupying shifting states of presence and absence. Some appear held within constraining structures, while others expand into rhythmic, hypnotic fields. Across the work, the body becomes a site of transition, where the boundaries between inner and outer, self and other, physical and intangible begin to blur.

Sean BW Parker’s practice moves between instinct a Sean BW Parker’s practice moves between instinct and critique, shaped as much by formal training as by a conscious departure from it. After completing an MA in Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, his work has evolved through a self-directed approach that prioritises intuition over instruction.

Beginning with only the loosest of ideas, Parker allows meaning to emerge through the act of making. His paintings draw on media narratives and cultural figures, reworking them into layered compositions that remain open, resisting fixed interpretation and inviting the viewer to find their own reading.

Working from a studio on the West Sussex coast, his process balances constraint with freedom, building works over time through material exploration and instinctive decision-making. With new exhibitions and projects underway, including Magnolia Graffiti, his practice continues to question the boundaries of commercial creativity.

His work is driven by the physicality of paint, where layers of colour, texture and gesture gradually build into compositions that balance structure with intuition.

Although fully abstract, each piece often begins with a narrative or symbolic reference, from memory and mythology to imagined figures, allowing emotion and atmosphere to emerge through process rather than fixed intent.

Based at Turf Projects in South London, his work carries a subtle Mediterranean sensibility, shaped by light, rhythm and place.

We are delighted to feature Lebanese multidiscipli We are delighted to feature Lebanese multidisciplinary artist Hayat in The FLUX Review.

Working across photography, video, installation, and writing, Hayat creates deeply atmospheric works that explore memory, identity, displacement, and the emotional architecture of place. Now based in Dubai, with roots in Beirut, her practice reflects on the quiet tensions between personal experience and collective structures, where stillness, language, and visual poetry become powerful forms of inquiry.

Her work moves through fragility and ambiguity, holding space for what cannot always be easily explained. Through image and text, she invites us to slow down, to pay attention, and to remain close to what lingers beneath the surface.

In our latest interview, we speak with Hayat about atmosphere as meaning, vulnerability in art, shifting geographies, and the responsibility of the artist in a world saturated with imagery.

A practice shaped by instinct, discipline and a li A practice shaped by instinct, discipline and a lifelong dialogue with painting.

In our latest interview, Zheni Warner reflects on a journey that began in Bulgaria under the guidance of her mother, painter Violeta Maslarova, and evolved into a deeply personal, materially rich practice in the UK. Her work moves between abstraction and form, where every mark is considered, yet led by an intuitive exchange between artist and canvas.

From luminous glazes to layered surfaces, Warner’s paintings hold a quiet intensity, often absorbing the weight of contemporary realities. Her current series, The Disasters of War, draws on the enduring legacy of conflict, translating it into works that are not about narrative, but about something more lasting – the moral resonance that remains.

This is a conversation that moves through influence, process and the subtle balance between control and surrender in painting.

Enter the unsettling world of Amy Coyne. Working Enter the unsettling world of Amy Coyne.

Working across felt-based character creation and film, Coyne constructs haunting narratives that sit somewhere between the handmade and the cinematic. Her work draws on the language of horror not simply to provoke fear, but to explore the psychological weight behind it — the choices we make, the consequences that follow, and the things that refuse to let us go.

Through her short films Sherry and St. Augustine, she introduces Alvis — a quietly disturbing presence whose story unfolds across time, shifting between observer and subject. These are not films that offer resolution. Instead, they leave space for discomfort, inviting the viewer to sit with what is unresolved.

Her process is entirely immersive, spanning set building, props, lighting, camera and sound — a fully realised world shaped by hand.

Amy Coyne is not just creating horror. She is questioning what truly unsettles us.

Hong Kong–based artist Kwong Kwok Wai approaches painting as a visual diary, where cartography, history and personal identity converge. Working with a hybrid technique that combines traditional Chinese pigments and oil, Kwong creates layered compositions that feel both precise and fluid, grounded yet uncertain. His practice reflects a deeply considered dialogue between past and present, East and West, structure and emotion.

Fernando Velázquez paints against the current, creating what he describes as ‘mental landscapes’ — spaces where emotion takes form and the invisible begins to surface. His work is not about depiction, but presence. A quiet resistance. A moment of stillness held within paint.

At a time when everything competes for attention, Velázquez reminds us that meaning often lives in what is left unsaid.

We’re also so excited to share that he will be exhibiting with us this September at FLUX Exhibition in London.

In a culture driven by editing, filtering and control, Sarah Peters creates work that resists all three.

Working in black on white, her ‘stream of consciousness’ practice allows emotion, thought and instinct to move directly onto the page, unfiltered and uncorrected. Abstract mark-making and handwritten text exist side by side, forming works that feel immediate, raw and deeply human.

Nothing is concealed. Nothing is revised. What appears is exactly what was meant to be there.

In this conversation, Sarah reflects on surrendering control, finding her voice beyond commercial work, and why honesty in art is resonating more than ever.

New Interview Live on The Flux Review In an era s New Interview Live on The Flux Review

In an era shaped by digital imagery, artificial intelligence and the constant circulation of self-representation, identity is no longer fixed but continuously constructed, edited and redefined.

In this conversation, Romeo Bud reflects on a practice that sits between painterly tradition and technological shift, using painting to examine the evolving nature of the human condition.

At the core of his work is an exploration of the relationship between the organic and the artificial, expressed through the profound transformations contemporary identity is undergoing. Working at the intersection of body, memory and system, he considers how technology, artificial structures and mechanisms of control reshape perceptions of self, time and human connection.

Working primarily in oil, his practice moves between figurative and abstract forms. His figurative works centre on posthuman representations, hybridised bodies in states of transition, where flesh and mechanism coexist without conflict. These figures do not imagine a distant future, but reflect an already active condition, where technology has become an extension of perception, memory and decision.

Themes of perfection, immortality, fragmentation and the loss of intimacy run throughout, questioning what remains of the self within increasingly mediated systems.
